About the Drink: (parentheses) is a vinegar-based botanical beverage duo created by sober entrepreneurs, Tawny Lara (author) and Nick Mechak (former sommelier). before prepares your palate for a meal while after calms the mind and senses. Our bold botanical spirit made from organic seaweed. Co-founder Nick ferments the seaweed into vinegar, and then we add our signature botanical blend. (before) is great with tonic or in a spritz while (after) is excellent topped with ginger beer or as a whiskey substitute in a mint julep

(after) is meant to help calm the mind and stomach while winding down. Featured herbs include angelica, lavender, and chamomile with added notes of wood and a slight smokiness from cherry bark, marshmallow root, and black cardamom.

Unwind from the grind with this botanical beverage. The herbs in this drink have been traditionally used to calm the nerves and aid digestion. Tasting Notes

●      Dulse (a type of red kelp pronounced dulse, not dulce) brings a slight sweetness and a smoky, briny flavor.

●      Angelica is bitter and woodsy, and was traditionally used as a digestive herb.

●      Chamomile, lavender, lemon balm, peppermint, and Calendula (marigold) are common ingredients in calming teas. You're probably familiar with those flavors. Calendula (marigold) is less common and is an orange flower that tastes a bit like saffron.

●      Wild Cherry Bark and Marshmallow root add a woodsy/earthy note.

●      Black Cardamom is a species of cardamom that's also smoked in its preparation, and adds nutty, smokey, and exotic spice elements to the drink
